Thank you for the info TJ.brooks,

earlier you mentioned that the account will be coming off this year as my last payment was in 2006 but you also mentioned the account will come off from the date it is reported to the credit bureaus. So which one is it? My last payment was in 2006 July but if it was reported only in 2009 for instance then it would be 6 years from 2009 correct?

I might be mistaken but I thought that the 6 years starts from the first date of delinquency? Could someone please explain?

Anything I could do to get the date corrected on my credit report? Other then filling out an investigation request form from TransUnion?

Its the date of last payment. Even at 2009 the Statute of 2 years has run out....just stays on report longer. 2015 if they use that date but again your last payment was in 2006 if I read your comments right.

Wouldn't the statue SOL start from the last day of activity on the account? Which was sometime in January 2007 according to Rogers but was reported to the credit bureaus to be April 2009. My main concerns is how could I change the false reported date? I don't have any documents to prove that date. I only know it as that is that date rogers told me on the phone. Possible the Global collections reported the false date.

Assuming your last payment was in 2006,it will be coming off credit report this year.
At this point they can no longer sue you as the Statute of Limitation ran out in 2008. All they can do now is hound you for it.

Rogers account with Global Collections

Postby Sziszi45 » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:41:06 AM

Hello,

I am writing from Toronto, Ontario. I had an accunt with rogers for 2 cell phones in 2006. I went to Europe for 2 years. I did not cancel the account as rogers did not pay me back my deposit I payed in order to qualify for them to give me a cell phone as I had no credit histroy before. In 2010 I received a letter from Global Credit and Collections to settle the account in 30 days, I called left a msg, sent an e-mail but no reply. I left it at that until now. While I was checkin my credit report I saw the account being there from Rogers for $3000 from an original $220 or so. Neither Rogers or Global are contacting me in any way to collect. However after talking with rogers over the phone the last date of activity on this account was January 2007 but it is reported to be April 2009 on my credit report. I have no records or any paper work to prove anything. I called rogers asking for the contract or any documents replating to this account but they said they dont have anything they they could send m and the only way to settle it is if I pay. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank You
