hello there dd3408,

i took a glance on your post and i have found out that you do have a problem about your credit report having an old debt with TD. i was wondering if this problem have already been resolved? the post you made was still 2009 of April and its already 2010. how is it going now?

by the way, knowledge 4323 gave you some advice to send them a letter telling Equifax that you don't have any idea about the debt you owe, did you do that? did you send a letter? what was their response?

its been a while that you haven't posted something about you current situation now. hope to hear from you. if ever you have something to ask or inquiries then post it in this thread or to other threads that suits with the topic. i know people from this website are helpful and would give you excellent advices.

first of all TD will no be able to verify this debt because its sooo old.............second thing the collection agencies do not have written contract signed by YOU to do business with you. I would send a LETTER to the collection agency and tell them you have no idea what they are talking about and their inquiry on you credit report is doing harm to your credit reputation and if they don't take the inquiry of the report you will be forced to take legal action against them.......................tell them also that according to the law they will be fined when found guilty.........good luck.........those collection agencies make me mad too.....lol..........don't talk to them on the phone.......

Can I complain to Equifax?

Postby dd3408 » Tue Mar 06, 2007 12:00:00 AM

I've got quite a situation on my hand here and need some advice.

I have had 2 collection agencies ( iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency and D&A Collections) make inquries to my Equifax credit bureau in the past few months for a very old debt with TD. I know it is statute-barred and that it is not reporting on my credit bureau. This debt is over 13 years old but is in excess of 10000$ so I can see why the companies would want to try to collect on it. I managed to evade collection agencies for years until the debt became statute-barred and have since rebuilt my credit. When the first company, D&A, started to try to collect, they started calling me at work without even sending a letter. I put some heat on them by contacting Equifax and sending them some e-mails to the point where their efforts stopped. Now I have iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency that has sent me an letter, offering to settle the debt for just over half the amount owing.

How can I get the to stop this or will it continue forever? Do these companies have the right to make inquiries to my bureau? Who should I address my complaint to? I don't want it to be with TD or the collection agencies as I don't want to confirm the validity of the debt.

Thanks,

D
