HELP! credit score falling!

Postby drjlunge » Wed Aug 24, 2011 09:46:49 AM

hey there thanks for taking the time to read through this.

I am hoping that someone could give me some advice as to what i should do in this situation.

When i bought my credit score (equifax)6 months ago my credit score was a 689 it said "number of national card trades ever 30 days in past 24 months, number of reviolving trades with high utilizxation, number of national card trades bad debt in past 6months)

I have a car lease

I have 3 student loans toaling 26 000 CAD
a student line of credit that totaled 6500
a credit card that was closed by citibank after i had it for 5 years out of the blue cause the deemed me high risk (i had 3 late payments) credit limit 14, 100 CAD with a balance of 8500 owing on it
there were also 2 retail cards on there (future shop) that were active zero balance on them but unused for 3 years.

So recently I thought i was making progress by closing down the unused accounts......I paid off 20,000.00CAD in the past 6 months, leaving my only debt remaining being my student loans (totalling 23,000.00) and my car lease.
I have had a history of late payments in the past 24 months and i know this is something thast i have to wait out.

When i bought my equifax yesterday (6 months later) my score dropped down from 689-687 equifax reports that |"number of national card trades ever 30 days in past 24 months, average utilization for open revolving trades, number of revolving trades with high utilization in last 6 months"

I am confused as to why this happened as i just paid 20 thousand cash to bring balances down to zero. I am nervous that then my BMW lease is up in feb that with a 687 score i wont qualify to get another car, and i dont even own a house yet
I make aprox. 7000.00/mnth after taxes. i am frustrated beyond belief and dont know what to do?
