What exactly are you referring to when you say they will get more info on me?

Also, what makes you think they will pursue you legally? Do you own a large debt, such as 4 figures?

Remember, from my experience majority of collection agencies don't have a legal department and even if they did seek legal action, they would need authorization from the creditor.

There is just so much more to understand regarding this matter, feel free to message me privately.

Thanks for the reply Rawdebt. I know that if I talk to collection Agencies they will try to get useful info for them from me. I am trying to avoid being sued. I am planning to do a Consumer Proposal but I need time to arrange my things.

What I am really wondering is how not talking will make matters worse? I have been told if I talk with them it will hurt me because they will get info from me. But I have also been told it will hurt me.

Any info would be appreciated.

This is a bit of a vague and general question, could you perhaps give more details?

Sure, you don't have to talk to collection agency but you will only make your situation worse. Why don't you want to talk to them?

If you do talk with the collection agency, the best tool you can have is to know the law and how it protects you, the consumer.

Talking to Collection Agencies

Postby MeMyself » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:00:33 AM

I have been advised not to talk to the collection Agency, I have also read that this is one of the worst things that I can do. I am wondering Why I should or should not talk to the Collection Agency?

What do Collection Agency's think of people who do not answer the phone? How does not answering the phone change the way Collection agency's handle your case?
