Hey Mel...
That's excellent news!!

It goes to show that collection agencies CAN and will take negative marks off your credit report. They have complete control over what is reported to Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada.

Many times creditors , collection agencies say that they have no control over what is reported to Equifax and TransUnion. When you talk to the credit bureaus themselves, they say that they have no control over what is reported.

Just to confirm, companies reporting to the credit bureaus have complete control over what is reported, and can change good items and bad items on your credit report as they see fit.!!

I'm glad to hear you had success with a collection agency ... This is good news for all of our readers!!

cbv collections

Postby unknown » Wed Jul 12, 2006 12:00:00 AM

i had a situation with cbv back in dec. i got a collection notice saying i owed a company money, which i did. i phoned cbv and made arrangements to pay right away. they said if i paid within 30 days there would be nothing on my credit file. i paid and assumed everything was fine until i looked at my credit report the other day, sure enough they had put this on my file with equifax. it said i paid, but this will show on my file for 6 years. i phoned cbv and said i wanted this removed from my file as i was told nothing would show on my credit report. they refused and said that they were not able to do this. well i phoned them for 3 days straight and spoke to every manager i could get a hold of, i told them they made the mistake and that they WOULD fix it. again they all kept telling me that they could not do this. i kept phoning and my persistance paid off...i got a call from them today informing me that they will be removing everything off my credit report. i'm glad i got what i wanted, but these people are real jerks to deal with...you just can't take no for an answer.
