For about 2-3 years my credit has been in the toilet.
I did everything to bring it back up, had errors fixed, stayed current on all my payments.

Then about two years after I settled a bad debt with mastercard, almost 2 years to the day. My credit shot from 590 to 650, then after i paid down a small credit card balance, it shot again the 674.

Last month I applied for a mortgage and got it. So I am right where I wanna be.

I have a rogers collection that should be falling off in Nov, so I am hoping it shoots up again aftert that.

It took time and patience. But with the help I got from this forum I was able to get it back on track and buy the house I wanted.

The funny thing is, this house went on the market about 5 days after my credit took a boost. So it was pretty good timing:)

Is this item in the collection section, if so is the Nov/04 the first date of delinquency? If it is then this item will fall off on Nov/10.

Transunion it says Reported: 06/12/2009, though the account was sent to collections Nov 2004.

I have been unable to get my equifax score. I tried online, but they say something about my address not matching what they have on record. I sent them in all the info they need to correct the address, phone, hydro bill plus drivers license. I did this twice and they still cant get it straight.

Anyway on transunion it says Reported: 06/12/2009, though the account was sent to collections Nov 2004.

According to the government website they state from the first date of delinquency.

**UPDATE**
I just got the equifax fiasco fixed up. Called the 1-800 and got a nice rep.
Anyway on the equifax page the info is listed as follows
Date of Last Activity: 2004-11 Date Reported: 2009-05

And on a side note, i pulled my score power from equifax, its nice to see after two years it just finally started to rise.
Equifax 652
Transunion 617

The first date of delinquency is the term Tran’s Union uses and the date of last activity is what equifax uses. What are the dates in your equifax and Trans Union reports?

Totally Confused

Postby Rinconns » Sun May 09, 2010 06:03:22 PM

Ok, here is the situation

In November 2004 I defaulted on a Rogers bill and it was sent to collections.

Until May 2009 this debt was left unsettled. I paid the debt and closed the account. And this is reflected on transunion. Reported: 06/12/2009

Now from what I read on the government website, (from the first date of delinquency) 6 years.

So is it correct to assume the rogers account will fall off my report in November 2010 which would be 6 years beyond the first date of delinquincy?

I hear some people say its 6 years from the date of last activity which would have been June of 2009.
