hi..

i have been surfing the net for different travel credit card as i do need one too. i have compared some of the credit card coming from different card issuer. checking their benefits and features made me realize that cards do differ in some ways. they may having difference in the points they give to the card holders. some card do give bonus points once a card user made its first transaction while others don't.

another card do give points when they celebrate the company's anniversary while other don't celebrate any event.

i enjoy comparing those credit card but i have found one that i think would give me larger number of points. check out the Aspire Gold MasterCard. it do give some travel points without any annual fee.

but i would like to share the links where i saw the different credit cards.

hello!

i have been looking for a travel credit card so that i can earn points out of my grocery shopping. i know that i can gain points from the amount of money i have spent with the card.

i do have bills to pay off that have been long pending which mean that the interest charges have haunted me for months after not paying them each month. im just in deep trouble looking for extra money. my income is not enough for all my expenses. i don't even know where to get some money to send back my 3 kids to school. i nearly getting broke.

that the reason why im getting a travel credit card is to gets some points which i consider savings for me. atleast something is given back. anyone who could help me find a good travel card?

hi..

good for you that you have used your points to pay off your airfare and your hotel stay. i would probably do the same. i would start to collect some rewards points after i will get my credit card. it is still the process of approval but i am confident enough that i will get it.

having said that, i would then be searching for a place to travel. i am thinking of going to Macao. have you heard of the place? i have been getting feedbacks from my email that the place is like a Mini Las Vegas with all the casinos around and the ambiance of lights all over.

Foods are also amazing as different races have already made a living there. i can't wait to eat my thai favorites and drink the japanese rice wine that make me become intense. lol

by the way, what travel credit card are you using?

travel rewards are definitely a good choice. This spring I went to San Francisco for a week and all of my hotel and air fares were paid for by my capital one card. I traveled Air Canada Airlines http://www.aircanada.com/, and I stayed at the four seasons in San Francisco.

All I had to pay for was meals and my rental car. So that made my stay a lot more pleasant. I was there on business as I'm self-employed, so it was helpful that I didn't have to spend a whole bunch of cash to visit a client.

The Four Seasons Hotels in San Francisco http://www.fourseasons.com/sanfrancisco/ was nice... it's also more impressive to stay there than at some cheap dump. Especially the client comes by to visit and they want to know that you're somewhat successful.

it took me a year to save for these points on my capital one card and it was completely worth it

I love the sweetness of travelling.. I like to travel, I like being home after travelling

hi..

what your saying is definitely correct.. i didn't realize that using cash to pay off any purchases i do would be risky.. risky in the sense that i might lose the money or the cash i brought won't be enough to pay off my bills..

in additional, your totally right when you said that it takes 3 to 4 days for the bank to clear the cheque i sent to pay off my orders online.. it made me kept waiting for days to receive the items only to find out that the reason for my long wait is the type of payment i made..

thanks for the insights..

hi Jonathan,

Yet the credit card is a tool that you can use instead of cash. I prefer to use a credit card over cash, because I like to collect rewards points. If I paid cash for things I wouldn't collect travel rewards or other types are rewards. So for me using cash is not the way to go.

As an example, this week I purchased my new GreenStar Elite juicer from Toronto. This is an item that I could not get in Regina. I had to give the store clerk in Toronto my credit card before he shipped the item to me. So that's one use of a credit card that's more convenient than cash. If I was to pay cash for that item I would have to send a cheque, and then the cheque would have to take a few weeks to clear the banks.

So it ended up taking me three or four weeks to get my GreenStar Elite juicer if I used cash. because I had a credit card I was able to get the juicer right away, and I was also able to collect rewards points.

So I guess I would be considered a convenience user because I always pay my credit card itself at the end of the month.

I'm still not sure if this answers Richelle's question??!!

hi..

as what i have understand from richelles post..

maybe what she means is that you can use the card as a source of money but the only things with it is your just bringing a credit card made of plastic. you are not bringing cash along with you which is very risky..

unlike having a credit card, you just need to tap or swipe it out in order to complete a transaction.

i hope what im thinking is right..

Hi RichelleM,

I don't understand this, can you explain:
To find the best travel rewards in Canada, you must plan to make use of these cards as plastic money, not as a means to have access to funds.

Also... can you explain this:

What is hush money?

I would just like to add that when dealing with rewards cards, Interest rates are not the single issue. To find the best travel rewards in Canada, you must plan to make use of these cards as plastic money, not as a means to have access to funds. If you can't pay hush money to the balance most months, mileage cards are not for you. Actually, before you consider specific cards, ask yourself simple questions concerning reward credit cards to be certain you make choices anchored in your financial situation and travel outlines.
