hi..

i am aware that cash back cards provide return some amount of money back to either into my account or getting a cheque from the card issuer. however, i want to ask if Capital One Aspire Cards the finest cash back cards?

i have seen that the credit card offers 2 reward miles for every dollar spend using the card. the card also give instant 10,000 points which is huge enough to redeem rewards once the company celebrate an anniversary. in addition, a big bonus amounting to 35,000 rewards point for the first purchase.

even if the credit card do have an annual fee of $120, i think getting all the bonus rewards won't make the card holder feels the fee. redeeming the point for rewards would be best for the card user. nothing more but earning points and getting cash backs.

I can't believe how ridiculous this is. Credit card companies suck people into using their credit cards by giving them these cash rewards. Then you run a balance, and then you got pay interest on that balance. Now you're stuck paying interest. this is how they trap people into paying interest. Obviously some people always pay their balance, but what can happen is that a person runs into trouble and then stops making their full payments, and that's what the credit card company wants. they want to get trapped so that you've got to start paying an interest. It makes sense because that's how they make their money. So a percentage of people who are benefiting from cash back will actually get stuck paying interest, and it takes years to dig out of the hole
Why do people need credit cards?

hi Jonathan,

the capital one credit card with cashback rewards either sends a check to you, or credits your account as soon as you have $15 built up. But you need at least a minimum of $15 cash back rewards saved up before you can redeem them. I don't think there's any credit card in Canada that returns a cashback every day to your account

Here is an interesting fact that I have found out today. It is that one-third of Canadian credit cardholders prefer cash back according to RBC poll. Here is the article about it:

Jun. 14, 2010 (Canada NewsWire Group) --

RBC launches new rewards card with a grocery bonus

One size does not fit all Canadians when it comes to credit card reward choices. A recent RBC poll shows that one-third (33 per cent) of Canadian cardholders prefer cash back over any other type of incentive, including merchandise (27 per cent) and travel rewards (23 per cent).

"While travel and merchandise rewards remain popular, many Canadians want a straightforward reward card that gives them cash back on everyday purchases," said Sean Amato-Gauci, vice-president, RBC Credit Cards.
