the best option is to get a low-interest credit card with no annual fee, like the Capital One low-interest cards

Ultimately I decided not to go with the TD Emerald visa because I don't carry a balance. so I don't really need low interest. Low interest is only when you're carrying a balance, and you don't really want to pay high amounts of interest.

I switched over to a no annual fee rewards card and I'll report on that as soon as I get it in the mail.

It's interesting that I'm making new decisions with my credit cards, since I've been doing all this study, and calling to the credit card companies. And I've got a lot more to report with regards to low interest credit cards in the next few days.

Monty: Hi, is this TD Visa customer service?

TD Visa: Yes.

Monty: How are you today?

TD Visa: I’m doing perfect fine. How about you?

Monty: Good. I’m just inquiring about your lowest interest rate cards.

TD Visa: Do you have any card with TD sir?

Monty: I do, yes.

TD Visa: Okay.

Monty: I’ve got the Venture line of credit and I’ve also got TD GM card.

TD Visa: For the low interest, it’s the TD Emerald card which provides you with the lower interest. So let me just take what will be the interest rate for you, okay? Can I have your full name please?

Monty: Sure, it’s Monty Loree.

TD Visa: Thank you so much for the confirmation Mr. Loree. I do have another card. It’s the TD Emerald card. The interest rate will be 6.15%.

Monty: 6.15%?

TD Visa: Yes, it’s a TD Prime plus 3.9 and it would go up to 6.15%.

Monty: What’s TD prime right now?

TD Visa: TD Prime is 2.25.

Monty: So you’re giving me TD Prime plus what?

TD Visa: TD Prime plus 3.9%, it goes up to 6.15%.

Monty: Okay and the annual fee, can you waive that?

TD Visa: For the first year I would be able to waive that, but annually from next year it would be automatically charged every month.

Monty: The annual fee?

TD Visa: Yes.

Monty: How much will they charge per month?

TD Visa: $1 to $25.

Monty: Yes, these are the charges every month?

TD Visa: I’m sorry about it Mr. Loree. It charges every year for $25.

Monty: Okay.

TD Visa: Mr. Loree, for my understanding you have a GM card as well as the Venture card. Would you like to have another card? That is Emerald Card.

Monty: Give me a second here, what was that? Somebody just interrupted me.

TD Visa: I’m sorry Mr. Loree. So I do see that you have two Visa cards with us?

Monty: Yes.

TD Visa: So you want another Visa Card another additional card?

Monty: No, I want to switch, like the TDGM Visa over to the TD Emerald Visa.

TD Visa: Would you like me to do that? I would certainly do that right away.

Monty: Okay, does that something that I need to reapply for?

TD Visa: No, it’s done after that change. So the GM card will become closed and you will be getting a new Emerald Card for it.

The following is a call I made to TD Visa customer service regarding their low interest credit card.

Monty: How do I get the TD Prime Plus 1.9%?

TD Visa: Your interest is based upon the credit score Mr. Loree.

Monty: Did you just check my credit score?

TD Visa: Yes.

Monty: So you were able to offer me 2.25% plus 3.9%, which is not bad I guess.

TD Visa: 2.25% plus 3.9% is the interest rate.

Monty: Right, can I call back on that?

TD Visa: Absolutely Mr. Loree. Our agents will be happy to help you switch your GM Card and other cards also.

Monty: Okay, can I put you on hold for a second please?
