This is not really a question for rewards card area...

This is more a question for the credit cards area.

To answer your question If you declared bankruptcy, you normally would have to declare all of your credit cards... so... by definition, you shouldn't have any credit open right now.

The question I've got is... are you discharged from bankruptcy? If so, you can get a secured credit card. We have them here... HomeTrust Secured Visa, and Capital One.. the credit lines are going to be between $300 & $10,000

If you're just in the midst of bankruptcy right now, you're probably not going to get a bigger line of credit, and you're probably not going to get any rewards or cash back. Your credit isn't good enough.

The secured credit card will be your best bet for job related expenses.

Hi, I would just like to ask how I can get a bigger credit line for my card?

I filed bankruptcy last year, cancelled all my card except for my MBNA credit card. I've so far handled all my finances and everything's going well. But I got a new job and they require us to get a credit card for job-related expenses we might incur to be reimbursed later by the company. I wonder how it will work? Will I be able to get a new credit card with a bigger credit line for work-related purposes?

For those frequent flyers out there, I found this site that rates the top Travel Rewards Credit Card. This is for 2009 but I hope you might still find this useful.

According to them, the 8 years spent on research, answered hundreds of emails asking about credit cards and all the articles they answered gave them the insight to rate the credit cards. They even created categories for rating what they view as the Top Travel Rewards Credit cards in canada. The categories are as follow:

1. Top Airline Credit Card
2. Top Hybrid Travel Credit Card
3. Top Travel Points Credit Card (with annual fee)
4. Top Travel Points Credit Card (with no annual fee)
5. Top Hotel Points Credit Card

Just to sum it all up for you, here are their top choices:
• Top Airline Credit Card: CIBC AeroGold Visa/AeroGold Visa Infinite
Honourable Mention: American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum Charge Card

• Top Hybrid Travel Credit Card: Diners Club Club Rewards MasterCard
Honourable Mention: RBC Visa Platinum Avion / Visa Infinite Avion

• Top Travel Points Credit Card (with annual fee):
Capital One Miles Plus Platinum MasterCard with No Hassle Rewards*
Honourable Mention: BMO Air Miles Gold MasterCard

• Top Travel Points Credit Card (with no annual fee): American Express Blue Sky Credit Card
Honourable Mention: Capital One Miles Platinum MasterCard with No Hassle Rewards

• Top Hotel Points Credit Card: MBNA Starwood Preferred Guest MasterCard
Honourable Mention: Chase Marriott Rewards Platinum Visa

I hope you find this useful when finding the right travel rewards credit card for you. Of course, I still encourage you to do your own research before deciding. Talk to a customer service representative, ask for a full disclosure of charges and fees.

I'm thinking of travelling to Ft McMurray to see my sister.
I'm going to use my MBNA Platinum Plus Travel Rewards master card.

I've got enough points to fly there.. I'm not sure how much the taxes and fees will be ...

I need 15,000 points to fly to the next province.. so Saskatchewan to Alberta.
