"I need to make the full payment before the lien will be removed"

Read that line again... it’s really nothing worth losing sleep over. All they are saying is they won't remove the lien unless you pay off the debt.

So really, what’s the big deal? Is it that big of a threat to your well being?

Take care of your child and securing a job first then worry about paying back the debt. They likely won’t do anything other then sit on the lien.

All a lien means is you can't transfer ownership of the house (or refinance your mortgage in some cases) unless the lien is paid.

It’s not like you intended to default or are disputing the money, you admit to owing it so just relax and focus on your priorities.

I hate to repeat it but AJ has experienced was many others have with RBC; they are just very aggressive with their collection tactics... especially with homeowners.

I hate to say it but your dealing with RBC and they will lien your place right away if they know you are going to default on your line of credit.

Royal Bank Threaten To Put Lien on my Home!!

Postby johnsmith1 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 05:43:32 PM

Hi
I am a single mother and I have a $30,000.00 line of credit with Royal Bank that I was paying for over 6 years. I recently lost my job and have stopped paying on the loan because I cannot afford to. I am on EI but need to pay the mortgage on my house and I have a small child that I have to take care of.

One of their representatives called and told me they have put a lien on my home and I need to make the full payment before the lien will be removed. I am worried because I don't have that kind of money to pay them at this time. Is there anything that I can do to stop this action? Please help!!

Thanks
