Hi and thanks for your reply, I just got back from the bank they have put a stop payment on the cheque and the account is being closed but can't do it right away because of all the pre authorized payments... :( they said they will do their best to make sure they don't get it..im reporting them to bbb and upper law society...

Close the account before the bank closes tonight. Failing that empty it and take the NSF hit. Better than being out $600 for a stat barred debt.

Banks can only stop EFTs if you give them the exact amount or they can stop all of them but they can't stop them from just a specific company. I also believe you need to give them 24 hours.

Now that they have your bank info you need to close the account or they will just take the money eventually.

I've read alot about this so called lawyers firm.. They have been harrassing us the past 3 weeks for a bill thats over 4 yrs old. They claim they sent numerous letters none of which we have ever received. I tell them resend it certify it and still nothing.. Today we got the well then you got 10 days and it goes to court... not ever seeing a bill or a letter...I stupidly granted them permission to take the money out of my accout today to settle this matter.. I'm a idiot!!! I look at this site and see how they work and now I'm freaking out.. called my bank put a stop payment on the money..but am told they can still get it by changing the amnout? how is that legal when I only authorized $603.60.. For the past 2 hours they have been telling me there sending a email stating the accounts paid in full when they get this money...3 hours later still no email....any advice how to proceed with these people???
