The economy will be in bad shape mostly because of a lack of consumer spending for the next few years. That doesn't mean banks won't do well.

The American economy is not going to see the light of day till at least 2015.The Americans are involved in wars and every time al Qaeda decides to attack America it costs tax payers more money.

It's good if the banks are importing American money back to Canada...
With the scare in 2008, I'm hoping the banks weren't over exposed.

As I said in the other topic TD is everywhere in NYC. It is rather odd actually until you get use to it. Most of the Canadian banks have a big presence in the States but under a different banner. BMO is pretty big in the midwest especially in Chicago under the Harris brand.

There is really nothing wrong with the US market going forward. There is still a lot of debt that is going to default but new loans going forward are very safe. There is actually a lot of opportunity for Canadian banks to buy assets at bargain prices that if you have the resources to you can hold on to and get a good return on in 4-5 years.

Wow... the TD Bank has put their name on the Gardens? - TD Bank Garden
I just noticed that in the picture caption in this article: http://www.wbur.org/2010/01/18/campaign-analysis-2 .. wbur.org is "Boston's News source"

The TD Bank Gardens even has their own website:
http://www.tdgarden.com/

The arena home at Boston, Massachusetts, of the Celtics, Bruins, and many other sports and entertainment events.

The TD Bank North Gardens...

I hope for Canada's sake that the TD Bank doesn't get too deep into the U.S. market place and then crash because of it.!!
