I really like the new design too. I've only seen the old design a few times (without participating much) but I think the changes are an improvement.

Any plans to update the logo to go with the new look?

Keep up the good work!

hey Ottawa_Chap,
Thanks for the comments,

This new design will be better for me to maintain... I've programmed it very efficiently, which means I"ll be able to add on features with less problems than the previous layout.

(I was fairly brand new to programming while I built the first version, so it ended up being one thing crumpled up on another..

This time around, the "under the hood" code is very nice and clean and will be easy to work with.

As far as privacy policy goes, it's kind of hidden on the front page.
/disclaimer.html

We need this in place for our advertisers, and of course our members and visitors.

With regards to SSL... I don't think of this site as a high security site. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend using the same password as you do with your online bank account or credit cards etc.

While passwords and personal information are secure with me, I still recommend that people use less crucial passwords here.

If we get into higher security requirements, I'll add SSL right away.

Thanks again for the input.

My eyes are still adjusting to the revised layout. Will need to play around with the feel for a few days before firming up any feedback.

Regardless, being in IT myself I can appreciate the amount of time and effort you've put in, Monty, playing around with different layouts. Glad I'm not a coder, I don't have the paitence for it. A buddy was "hammering" me pretty hard the other week showing off B/I projects he's completed. Had never taken the time to even investigate the mechanics behind building a CUBE prior to our chat, but WOW did I feel like I had the Coles notes injected into my system that evening - didn't help that we were having a few beers at the time either. Ahh well...

Couple things I am curious about though, do have any intention of:

A) Putting a privacy policy in place?

B) Running the site over SSL as oppose to just HHTP?

After all, a password is being sent across the wire.
Infuriating one C/A at a time..

Thanks RichardC,
While it looks identical to phpBB, I did all of the mysql & php programming...

the pages load quickly and it's got a better look to it..

Thanks for the feed back.

Again... I want to thank average_joe for helping me roll out the new site look here.
He was able to catch some bugs and advise if something wasn't working.

I hope everybody enjoys the new look..!!!

Please let me know if you've got suggestions for the new discussion forum area.
Now that it's been redesigned, it should be easier to implement new features etc.

Thanks again.

Hello,
As mentioned , I am rolling out the new discussion forum look.
There have been a few bugs to iron out..

Average_Joe was kind enough to point out to me that whole pages weren't working, because he's using IE6....

I was able to work out those bugs today and the pages seems to be loading and looking fine.

If you see any bugs, please let me know.. I'll get them fixed right away.

Thanks.
