Problem is that there is no account number on my credit file for this item. Makes me wonder how the reporting system is being abused when they can submit derogatory information that isn't complete/correct and equifax accepts it.

Here is the fax number listed below for Rogers’s ombudsman department. I would write up a letter explaining your whole situation from start to finish. If you have a copy of your credit report showing the incorrect item, send that along. I have used the ombudsman's with other creditors with success and I believe you will get the same help you need. Good Luck.

So in essence I need something from Rogers that indicates I do not have a monetary debt with them, then I can include this with my letter to Equifax to get this bogus information removed?

The first thing you should do is call Roger’s. I don't think you need legal advice and maybe you can get this straightened out since you’re a Rogers’s customer. I would ask for Rogers’s collection department when calling.

Good Morning (or Good whatever time of day you happen to read this)

I have received a letter from natalie law office claiming I owe Rogers cable money. This claim also has appeared on my credit file (equifax). They are claiming I owed this from 2004 however I am a current Rogers customer in good standing. Is there a way I can get this removed from my credit file? If so how? I do NOT wish to speak with global credit regarding this as I know it would be a waste of time. Should I get legal advice and can anyone recommend me someone specializing in this kind of legal practice?
