I think I have a similar issue. I have one Rogers debt that has been sent out to two separate collection agencies. One

First one from IQOR showed up in 07, the other from CBV showed up this passed Feb.

Not sure what to do.

**RESOLVED**

Anyone with a Rogers account sent to IQOR should look into this.

After some correspondence with IQOR, they have agreed to remove the second listing regarding this account. They seem to agree the second deragatory listing was in fact in error.

Right now I am borderline credit worthy, I am grabbing for every few points that I can get. Hopefully this will give me the few points I need.

So I reccomend to everyone, pull your credit report from Transunion and Equifax. Examine them both for this error. And take action if needed.

Elliesir, there should not even be comments from Iqor on my file to begin with.

Having them there is another negative comment which hurts the overall score. I should not have TWO negative comments for just one account.

the settlement letter you got from Iqor should be forwarded to Equifax so that whatever is on your credit bureau can show SETTLED instead of written off

ok, here is some updated information. I have been digging around.

here is a quote directly from the rogers contract

Confidentiality of Customer Information
25. Unless you provide express consent, or disclosure is pursuant to a legal power, all information regarding you kept by us,
other than your name, address and listed telephone number, is confidential and may not be disclosed by us to anyone
other than:
- you;
" "
" "
- an agent retained by us in the collection of your account or to perform other administrative functions for us, provided
the information is required for and used only for that purpose;
- an agent retained by us to evaluate your creditworthiness, provided the information is required for and is to be used
only for that purpose;

Now this information given to IQOR from Rogers was used to report on my credit. This appears to me to be in direct conflict of the contract agreement.

The law also states anyone whom you lawfully give your information to is responsible for how its used by them or a third party. So if IQOR is unlawfully using my information, Rogers maybe liable.

I am going to call the Canadian privacy institute in the morning to get more information on this. Then I will call Rogers privacy commisioner as well.

Will keep you posted.

Double Whammy from Rogers and IQOR

Postby Rinconns » Tue Jun 02, 2009 08:18:42 PM

I was discussing this in another thread and decide to move it here.

Anyway, here is a breif description
Rogers Account closed in 11/2004 for defaulting on payment.
Given to CBCL/IQOR.
Settled with IQOR in April of 09, now at $0 balance.

Now here is the situation.
Both Transunion and Equifax show 2 deragotories. 1 for Rogers and one for IQOR.
Now Rogers would have full right to post information to my credit file. But does IQOR actually have the same power? I signed no contract with IQOR. So I am getting penalized twice for the same crime.

I was given some excellant advice in the other discussion to write IQOR a letter on this.

But do I have a leg to stand on? Has anyone ever had this removed from thier credit files?

thanks
