I need to rebuild my credit again and that’s a huge jump in eight months. Do you only have one credit card?

Well, Iv been using the card, I racked it up, and brought it right back down again. And Iv been doing this for the last month or so.

Iv gone and checked my credit report and this is what equifax said 8 months ago :

Fico : 448

this month :

Fico : 649

Thats quite a jump for the last 8 months isnt it?

Iv been with the same TD Canada Trust branch for almost 20 years, Ever since my first paper route. Its still in my home town, but i go out of my way to deal with them alone. even though Iv been up to 10,000 km away. I still call the same woman Iv always called to deal with.

I think it was a good idea because; you are lucky to get a credit card after you settled a few debts. I would make small purchases and pay your balance off every month. Which bank gave you the card?

UPDATE :

Iv paid off the Rogers bill, They setteled for a $2500 lump sum, rather then wait to get the $6000. Wich Im happy about. Iv also paid of the Line Of credit, and kept using my CapitalOne Card. Wich they seem to be very happy about.

Iv done a full credit check on both Equifax, and Transunion. I got the Credit score ratings as well to track any change. And Iv found a few issues. Iv done this once a month for the last 6 months.

A) I could have sworn I owed Telus money, but according to my credit report I dont. And Iv looked at a credit report from the local department store, and it doesnt show up on that one either (wich seems to be more detailed, and has a lower Score then the ones directly from Equifax and Transunion)

B) The IQOR account, and related Rogers accounts have had no change what so ever in their standing. The Rogers account, now shows, I owe $3500, rather then $6000. And I QOR shows I still owe them $6000.

Iv faxed off disputed to Equifax, and Im mailing disputed to both Equifax and Transunion. I hope to hear good news back from them.

One good bit of news, My Bank gave me a $10,000 Credit card. I didnt ask for it, they asked me if I was interested. So.. I took it, but with a lower limit of only $7500. Was that a bad idea? And does it show that my credit score is improving? A year ago they wouldnt even concider me for a $500 card??

I'm not a mortgage agent - you should talk to one in your area about that. They will tell you what rate they can get in each score range. My guess would be the min score for the best rate will start in the 700-750 range.

Dont do an application since that will be a hit on your credit report, just inquire about what you need to qualify for the better rates. You already know what your score is today.

So I should hold off on trying for a mortgage for 12 to 14 months. Is that what I should do?

I wouldn’t expect a whole lot to change in the next few months.

re: How to Rebuild My Credit

From where you sit today and by keeping to best practices will usually net an increase in score from the 100-200 range around 12-14 months on Equifax.
