Most agencies also accept Western Union, which allows you to pay them at Money Mart without them seeing any of your banking info. It costs you $15 for the Quick Collect.

You just have to get the info from the agency to put on the form. If you ask them for their Western Union info they'll know exactly what to give you.

You can get one at any of the Canada Post office locations.

Also, make sure you get the agreement in writing from the collection agency before you make any payment.

Why didn't I think of that lol

Can I obtain one at western union/money mart. I'm kind of embarrassed to ask for one at my bank, as I am on very friendly terms with them.

Can I go to any bank where I am not a customer? I don't mind paying a fee

How to pay collection agency

Postby steven26 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 03:35:50 PM

Without getting in to details, I am dealing with a collection agency and they are driving me crazy. I notified them politely I will pay for this debt immediately and I will call them back tomorrow and confirm my method of payment. They have called twice already since then, and I doubt they will stop. I am completely responsible for the debt, and as such I am not going to bother fighting.

I can afford to pay off the debt in question as its a very small amount, but I do not want to send a check because I do not want them to know where I do my banking. I won't send cash for obvious reasons, and I'm assuming paying online leaves the same trail as a check.

Does anyone know how I can pay the amount without exposing any of my banking information while still receiving confirmation that this has been settled?
