Well they have not sent anything to me, the only reason I am asking is because they sent a letter to an address I used to live at 10 yrs ago (or longer) My folks just happen to live there and my dad saw it in the mail room. I gave my change of address to all when I moved ( phone/cable/bank/credit cards etc) so who they could be attempting to collect for is beyond me...

The best thing to do is call them up. These collection agencies represent numerous creditors. If the debt is that old, they will not be able to do anything, but use scare tactics. I notice a lot lately that collection agencies are digging up debts that are over seven years old. The only that would make them do this, is they are desperate for money.

Yea becides their a bunch of scumbags... their office is located in Toronto. I know I personally went down to pay the debt off that we had agreed too.

I had an agreement & I full filled my end & they never reported that I had made the payment to the credit bureau & now its still on my credit. I am too unsure on how I am going to deal with this I dropped off a money order & wrote what the guy at Excel had told me to write & that it was paid in full once they cashed that & now here I am still screwed overe by Excel.

Has anyone got any info on these guys??

Postby dragonflyofamber » Mon Mar 23, 2009 09:47:56 AM

Hey folks,

I got a call from my dad today stating that some agency named Excel Collection Agency had sent a letter to a building I haven't lived in for over 15 years! (they happen to live in the building and saw the letter in the mailroom)

Has anyone heard of these guys or who they represent? I was floored to say the least, especially considering how long it has been since I have lived there! Also, I thought there was a time limit as to how long an agency can pursue a matter...7 yrs is it not? Advise, info, would be greatly appreciated!!
