Hi Monty,

Thanks for jumping in. I will send off something in writing. I have not yet heard from them. I have payments for them, so it is very odd that they won't respond to my voicemail or e-mails.

Goodwillpay,
I'm kind of jumping into the conversation a few days later here.
Have you contacted consumer protection?

IMO you should be writing letters, not emails to consumer protection and the collection agency. Complaining in writing with your signature on the document means that the collection agency will have to reply.

They are licensed by the province and are regulated by the province.

I meant the original creditor not collection agency.

Cheers

If you can please, can you refresh my memory who you owed the money too? Which creditor I mean?

Hi Averagejoe,

The problem is, they have ceased contact with me completely following the last day of their deadline to have me settle 100% of the debt within 5 days of their first contact. I sent them an e-mail, explaining I would send a payment while I wait from my financial institution to borrow the money. It did not meet their terms and I have not heard back from them since. I have e-mailed twice.

Goodwiilpay,

Here something to stress them out listed below.

Here is a tip to get the bill collectors to stop calling when you cannot afford to pay them. Every time they call you; tell them you are prepared to offer them 10% in a one time lump sum payment to settle your debt. If they agree make sure you get the acceptance offer in writing before you hand over the money. If you keep telling them 10% every time they call, they will probably send your file back to the creditor in a few weeks.

I just called their toll free number and pressed zero and someone answered.

Toll Free: 1-866-958-5850 and press zero when you hear the recording.
