Interesting...
There are more shows on TV now that deal with freecycling..

From Junky to Funky, Junk Raiders, DIY Network type shows...

It's becoming more fashionable again to do freecycling, which is good because it's very cost effective.

I had no idea about Freecycle! Thanks for sharing. It's as great as eBay, or even greater. Lately it became very useful to me and I hope for others too.

Freecycle

Is everyone familiar with Freecycle? It's a great countrywide organization that aims to keep excess "stuff" out of the landfills by having members share what they don't need.

It's all FREE, for the asking. Members post what they have to give away, or for what they are seeking. Our local group is very active and supportive. You meet some great people, too (you usually pick-up the items you've requested).

If you want to make money (besides the obvious savings of not having to BUY the item you receive) you can try selling your "gifts" on eBay or at local auction houses.

For myself, I wouldn't receive items that I feel someone in need would benefit from.. donations of baby clothes etc.. but that's just my personal view :)
