Really, they are being sued. They have a way of getting your home telephone number even if it’s blocked by the telephone company. I tell people to call them from a payphone or a pay as you go phone.

angella,

yes, you're talking about a "collection item" (these aren't "R" statuses, they just show the original and current balance and whether it is paid) on the bureau which agencies have complete control over, but not the original "trade item" (which gets the "R" rating).

here is an example of a collection item on a TU bureau:

-- Collections ----------------------------------------------------------------

Rvsd Reptd Creditor's Name Amount Balance

May2008 Apr2008 (creditor name here) (amt here) (amt here)

no real "DLA" to speak of. and you're right - we can remove these things entirely.

here is an example of a trade item:

-- Trade ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Payment Pattern

Reptd Open Last H.Credit Balance PastDue Terms 30/60/90/#M MOP

(creditor name here) 999X99999999999X11111111

Dec2008 Jan2006 Feb2007 (high credit) (bal) (pdue) 0/M 1 0 14 36 R9

BAD DEBT WRITE OFF, ACCT CLOSED

(in this case the DLA is the "last" is Feb 2007)

we have no control over trade listings.

I agree that corrupt collection agency contact resources are one of the crookest agencies around. They use illegal tactics to get peoples information. They will get sued one of these days.

As for the other... no, you can't remove the original creditor listing, but you can remove your own. Collectors will state that they cannot... but they most definitely can.

Actually, Bill, they will. Contact Resource Services is famous for that. They tried it with me (before I filed a statement of claim) on Transunion. Seems the account was originally owned by Contact Resource Services Inc... and was sold to CRS Inc. Date of last activity: Sept 2004... about 3 1/2 years after the real date of last activity.

Your so funny Bill Lector or maybe they mislead the creditor in doing so.I know from experience creditors don't like playing those games.

Ridiculous nonsense - collection agencies can't modify the DLA on a trade item since only the creditor has control over that.

I stand corrected its our fault if a item goes R9, but at the same time if you want people to pay their balances in full this rating should get reversed if they start making payments again. The part of the collection agencies ruining peoples credit, that’s true I know for a fact and seen collection agencies change peoples last date of activities before their item was ready to come off their credit file. If you’re trying to paint this great imagine of your industry, tell that to someone that doesn’t know the difference.
