It will make their life easier and yours. I find Equifax was great when it came to correcting mistakes in my credit file when I had the letter of proof. I find Tran’s union was not so easy at times I would have to call them up and explain what I wanted done. I told the person on the phone can’t anyone there read english; the letter I sent along was self explanatory. They don’t make things easy at Tran’s union; I believe you’re a burden on them when you request something for them to do. I believe they are a lazy bunch or just incompetent at times.

I was told by an Equifax representative over the phone a few years back that they receive over 4000 thousand faxes a day. When I used to put in a request to have corrections done in my credit file, the corrections would be done in less then 30 days. It helps speed things up having the letter from the creditor stating when you paid your debt.

Equifax receives approximately 10,000 requests per month for credit report fixes... They have a system in place...

I'm not sure they would let you bump in line :)

10,000,... is that all?!! is my question :_)

I am trying to order my credit report and FICO score online, but can't because I had a stolen ID note put on my file. Apparently, this note can be added over the phone with no problems, but to have this note removed, one has to fax in a request with a copy of their ID and then it can take up to 30 days.
