I have a similar situation in that I have recently been contacted by ARO regarding a traffic ticket that was charged almost 9 years ago.
The infraction happened in Ontario, I was living in BC, and still am now.

It was a DUI, I took it to court, was fined but never paid.

Is the debt not dead by now?
Will my credit be affected?

Can this agency threaten to suspend my DL?

No, it won't affect your credit report. It's more than 6 years old.

I called Bell today and they couldn't find any account of mine owing money.
I'm just gonna tell they i'm not going to pay it.. since it's over 6 years old. and if it really is my bill.. i'm sure the damage is done now to my credit score anyways.

Possibly, Nordon called you as Bell is in the midst of a country wide pre-Christmas campaign to clear up old dead accounts. Pay if you want to settle for moral reasons. This actually might be among those where a settlement could be obtained for the 10% "averagejoe" mercilessly keeps spamming this forum with.

I got a call this weekend for a old debt with Bell Canada that was around $800, the person on the phone is saying the date on this debt is from January of 2008. I haven't had any Bell accounts since 1998. So if it is really my debt it's from 1998 or so..Im in New-Brunswick.. anyone know the statute of limitations for NB?

He really wanted me to make a payment on the phone,, even if it was just $10. I told him i had no bills from Bell since 1998, but I would look into it and call him back..

Should i get him to mail me all the proof he has? I haven't even gotten a letter from them or anyone else regarding this bill.
