Sure there may not be a law stating that anybody has to deal with a Collection Agency but where is that going to get "anybody" in relationship to their Credit Report showing a Collection?

Any debt that is owed has the right to be collected upon, in any way the company sees fit. Does that mean that we should put up with the threats, demands, and rude behaviour of some Collectors? No! But there is a perfect way around this - play their game - and I will tell you that most lawyers don't know how this game is played either since I have alot of lawyers who send me their clients to deal with outstanding bad credit issues. And we don't cost what a lawyer does in doig the work! We just obtained a Settlement from a major bank where our client was awarded a year's worth of interest, his R9 Credit Card was reinstated, all late payments were removed, and they apologized for the inconvenience of their "mistake".

I would be more than happy to go over the procedures of how to go about doing this......

Parking fines go to collection agencies?

Postby montyloree » Tue Sep 06, 2005 12:00:00 AM

Carleton University parking fines

Failure to collect parking fines through internal methods will result in overdue accounts being turned over to collection agencies for recovery.

So.. how does this work? There is no law that says anybody has to deal with any collection agencies in Canada. People who get parking fines don't have any contracts with collection agencies.

What is the legislation that says that consumers have to deal with collection agencies regarding parking fines?

Any lawyers out there that can answer this question?
