more LIES LIES LIES...
Its simply an attempt to scare you into contacting them.

I have an empty threat "legal/intent to sue" letter from these losers from 2005. needless to say.. i was never sued.. and now its SOL so they cant sue me.
This letter is bogus, so is this company. I will gaurentee you that your next letter from CRS will be a form letter saying that they have recently purchased your account.

This company is lame.

update.....

so a week hadn't even gone by and I just got a letter from a CRS's lawyer...

basically saying that he's received instructions to commence an investigation regarding the acct to initiate legal action.

These F#^*ers move fast!!!!!!!! I don't even think the ink is dry from the letter I wrote Contact.....

Is this legit? I feel suspicious having them bombard me like this so quickly....

thanks for your input everyone, it's appreciated

Another option is to pay Rogers and send by registered letter to the agency a copy of the receipt and a letter stating clearly that you have paid Rogers directly and the account is cleared and to cease contacting you regarding the account. Be sure to send a copy of the letter to Rogers as well.

Working as a collector for Rogers, I know from experience... when you pay them directly, they don't always notify the agency that the account has been paid (or payments made). And now that the account is in collections, the agency may also not issue you a discharge letter.

Your choice.. pay Rogers and get collection calls, letters from the agency/law office or pay the agency so they stop calling and mailing you on a daily basis.

Here is what I would do...

because Rogers is only sent you a bill less than a month ago.. deal with Rogers and pay them.
Then have Rogers contact CRS stating the account has been paid to them (original creditor.

They will NOT sue you.. trust me. I have one of those letters from 2005 and I'm still waiting for them to serve me.

Rogers nor CRS is going to sue you. It's just a generic letter they send everyone, regardless of your balance.

Just make arrangements with their law office to clear the balance. The letter is basically there to scare you into actually calling them.

received a letter today

Postby girl_in_debt » Mon Jun 30, 2008 03:39:07 PM

Hello all....

I just received a letter from Conact Resources..... it basically says that they have made numerous attempts to contact me (which is a lie - this is the first) and since i have not resolved this account they have sent it to their legal department and that they are going to sue me for $800 plus all legal and court fees..... and to contact them right away and hopefully it's not too late!!!!!

on a side note *******

this letter was dated June 24th...... now Rogers sent me a bill dated June 19th for the same amount and that it is due July 16th!!!!! so WTF is what I'm asking

is this just some kind of scare tactic?????? and why would I be getting letters within days of each other regarding the same acct?
