Dina Natale is a lawyer that runs an office out of Global collections. A lot of collections agencies have lawyers working inhouse. One of the reasons for this is because it gives the agency the ability to issue out draft statement of claims to people by the truck load and with the lawyer there it makes it all that much more official. The lawyer is not there to take your calls, that is not thier job. The set up is very simple, the lawyer authorizes the letter, you call in and are always directed to a collector or a manager. The whole issue of having a lawyer sending you a nasty letter is that it makes it all that much more intimidating therefore better results happen. Don't get me wrong, As a lawyer she will be involved in suing some accounts but that would be from clients that want accounts sued which are few and far between. As for them taking more money out of an account then authorized, that is an actionable offence and if you push it like it seems you are doing, you just might get some favorable results. Another lawyer who used to work for collection agencies was Mark Silverthorn. This guy was responsible for sending tens of thousands of draft statements of claims for companies like Iqor or collectcorp and now he claims he is changing his spots and protecting the small guy against the big bad collection agencies (for a fee of course) I guess he figured there was more to be made from people in trouble trying to help them rather than trying to mislead them.
