Not necessary. Both credit bureaus remove items that are older than 6 years from the date that they FIRST went delinquent. You can download their dispute forms off the web or just call them up. The creditor or agency that submitted the information has 30 days to confirm its validity by provincial consumer reporting laws or they must remove it.

Yes, that's right. Contact TransUnion and Equifax at the numbers listed on your credit bureau reports to report the date violation. Collection agencies frequently use this tactic to blackmail people into paying stats barred debts.

1996! Talk about digging up a corpse and robbing the grave.

No, legally, in Nova Scotia, it was stats barred from a lawsuit by 2002 and also from being reported on your Equifax and TransUnion credit bureau reports by the same date.

Morally, you may owe them but that's between you and your conscience.

I had a rogers bill sent to iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency from 96 at least, do I have to pay it? someone told me after a certain amount of time it is written off, just trying to find out, plus should it show on my credit score as owing Rogers?

First of all, the 30 days is a scare tactic to get people to pay their account as collectors have a target they must meet monthly in order to make commission. Some agencies will not report to the credit bureau for 30 days, after that it will be noted on your credit file as an unpaid collection item.
Secondly, make a payment plan with them for a monthly amount. Let them now about your financials and tell them what you are willing to pay. If you are making monthlys payments to the account no further action will happen on the account, and they are not allowed to refuse payments.
If you need any more information let me know.

Rogers Bill sent to iQor Collection agency - CBCL

Postby dcdotcom » Fri May 16, 2008 03:27:05 PM

I just received a call from iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency that my I have an outstanding balance on my rogers bill or 500$ and some odd change. They said I have 30 days to pay it in full.

I didn't actually receive the call my parents did but I'm not living there anymore; so I called them back.
They asked me if I received a letter from them which I did not.
What happens if I dont pay? I really dont have the money to pay it otherwise I obviously would have in the first place. How badly will this affect my credit?
