This is what I would do regarding your bank account - and yes it's a pain and takes a little time, but you will feel better about it all when it's done.

Call your bank and explain the situation first of all. They will tell you what to do as well. Go to your bank and open a new account. Make a list of all of the creditors that automatic debit your account - call them and tell them you have closed your account and have opened up a new one, and fax in the automatic debit sheet that the bank will give you with your new account numbers. Even if you don't give your creditors enough time to make the switch before your payments are due, they will understand and I'm sure will debit your new account when it is ready. It takes about a half hour to open a new account at a bank, and then you can fax the new account info to your creditors - they will understand.

Are you able to get your money back from these crooks? Let us know what they say, we are here to help you and will figure out what to do.

"My friend got a new email saying her app. was almost complete but she had to call customer service"

This is a definite scam, I tried calling the numbers and now they are starting to get messages that they are "not in service", but then strangely enough, their voicemail (as usual since you rarely get an actual person pick up the phone) comes on suggesting to leave them a message.

Ok guys, let us draw a line here, we are dealing with a team of at least 3 unprofessional perpetrators (3 people definitely mapped as "Alex" "William" and that obscure receptionist voice [whoever that is].) whose goal is to get your cash deposit, and then haggle about "completing the application" and handing out the loan.

Just let me know your ideas :)

Good luck to your friend. I hope either way she gets her money back. Let us know how it goes.

I did report this company to Phonebusters today, and they said they have received other complaints as well.

But I do hope it works out for your friend.

My friend got a new email saying her app. was almost complete but she had to call customer service with more information about her credit history. Yesterday they said her money would be in her bank by today.

She will call tomarrow, we will see. She will ask for her money back because she no longer wants the loan.

"If I have a hundred bucks to spare, I'll stop in for a steak (just kidding). I'm sure it's a favorite spot for the Ellison National Finance guys. They need someplace to spend all that money (not just kidding)."

Well, OK, I have to be in the area tomorrow for a couple of reasons and I'll try to stop by. Coincidentally, I also had to drive by the building today. I guess my memory got the numbers screwed up. That's the building above Hy's Steakhouse. http://www.hyssteakhouse.com)

If I have a hundred bucks to spare, I'll stop in for a steak (just kidding). I'm sure it's a favorite spot for the Ellison National Finance guys. They need someplace to spend all that money (not just kidding).

All this location stuff is moot though. They're obviously crooks because it's illegal to demand money upfront for a loan - unless you're offering a secured credit card. You need to call FSCO at the number listed on the link I posted and they'll tell you what to do.

You are right, I just mean it's frustrating that these people can get away with it.

The other scam artists were reported about 6 months ago, and it's just frustrating that the authorities don't do more to stop these type of scams.

We'll talk again after Ray finds out more.
