Hello,
I agree with whataname,
if you co-signed, you're on the hook.
You'll need to keep up the payments to keep your credit nice and shiny.

Hey Sissicanada, the unfortunate part of cosigning loans (guarantor roles) are that you end up being as much responsible as the main applicant and yes it will go on your credit if the payments are bad. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done about this however when I was an Underwriter for a mortgage company I saw on a lot of credit bureau's where clients have called in and asked equifax or transunion to put a notation by the tradeline stating that you are a coapplicant only and they put a little note at the bottom called a consumer declaration stating reason for bad credit is ex. cosigned for my daughters loan but she has not been paying it on time. This gives creditors the idea that it is not necessarily your fault that the tradeline is showing as behind.

Hope that was somewhat helpful

bad credit to my name for one issue

Postby sissicanada » Wed May 07, 2008 05:18:00 PM

Can I get this bad credit record off my name if I have paid the amount owned within 60 days?
I co-signed for my daughter for a loan and of course she is not paying every month and then I get a letter saying that it's late....
TD bank said that if something is late by 60 days it goes on my credit.
How can I have it removed....I have never had a bad credit to my name.
I don't want to wait 7 yrs to clear. I have a super good job, paid well and have a whole bunch of investment and was never late on a payment.
Can someone explain to me how if at all possible
