Great. An excellent lesson for these people. Jamie, learn from it; collecting a debt doesn't mean you are above the law.

just thought i would follow up on what happened.

Court, yes.
Me paying full amount. No

Because of the misinformation and 'threats' they were providing me with that i brought with me. CRS has paided my debt for me and got nailed with a nice fine.

When a collection agency has authority to sue a file, it is forwarded to their law department, otherwise, the client (bank, utility company whoever) has their own legal representatives who pursue litigation.

When people get letters from Deanna Natalie and or Joel Misken (or who ever else has internal law offices) they assume it's a collection agency who is suing them. Or when an agency tells a debtor that they will be sued, they assume it's the agency that will sue them. This is what I meant.

Well Jamie, what you said doesn't make too much sense to me. You said collection agencies don't sue when they don't owe the debt. Well, that's correct. However, you listed out these "collection agencies" which have internal law offices do sue. How do these collection agencies differ from those collection agencies? Both DO NOT own the debt right? Suing or not depends if original creditors want it or not.

Angellina, how many times have you proven me wrong in my posts? Collection agencies do not sue people if they do not own the debt. Some agencies have internal law offices (like Deanna Natalie & Global Credit and MJR Collections and Joel Misken) and they sue people which makes it seem like agencies sue.

Sorry 2ed part of the joke i left out, my debt. Has already been paid with Rogers(the people the money was really for) and i have proof showing it, plus she did send that letter stating they charge 2% interest. As i said they push it, jokes on them. I have ammo and I have time.

Check Canlii.org, Jamie. Collection agencies can and do sue people. For a collection agent you seem remarkably uninformed about collection agencies.

As to whether they will in this case or not I don't know enough to say.

sorry, didn't mean to make it sound that vain. Any case my employer is already aware of my situation and my employer is ready to tell CRS not to contact them again.
