• Things you do NOT want to do when applying for another credit card

credit card providers in Canada are really strict when it comes to granting a credit card. Large banking institutions see to it that they will be granting someone that can pay and has a good credit reputation. Here are some moves that you can do to spoil your chances of getting another credit card:

Applying for a lot of credit cards or credit loans at the same time. This might be a way for you to determine the best deals for credit card providers or to see who will approve you for a card. But be cautious in doing a credit card application spree.

Using too much credit on existing or previous credit cards. If you’ve been maxing out or nearly maxing your previous credit cards, then they might consider you as a high risk for credit card providers.

Missing payments on your previous subscriptions. Paying on time all the time will be a big boost for credit card companies. This will tell them that you are capable of maintaining a good credit standing with their company.
Cancelling out previous cards. People are tempted to cancel out cards that they barely or don’t use because its not worth it but what they don’t know is that this can have a negative effect on their credit report.

Having someone financially reckless as an extension to your previous card. When you co-sign someone to be an extension to your card, you are equally responsible for that person and his decisions whether it is good or bad.

Changing jobs too many times. This will tell the credit card provider that you don’t have a stable income and they may question your ability to pay.But considering that you have already been granted a card before, this will increase your chances especially if you avoid all these things.
